Replacing garage door springs takes 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the type and size of the garage door and number of springs. Old garage doors with several failing parts take up to two hours to replace. A garage door spring tune-up takes 10 to 15 minutes per door.

The standard garage door width and height can vary by where you live, but is usually:

• 8 feet wide by 7 feet tall, or 9 feet wide by 7 feet tall for a single car garage door.
• 16 feet by 7 feet for a double garage door.

R-value describes the capacity of insulation. The higher the R-value, the better able the insulation is at maintaining temperature. Garage doors with a higher R-value will provide greater energy efficiency than doors with a low R-value. Basic doors have an R-value of 0.0 with no insulation. The first step up gives you 1-3/8” insulation with a 6.5 rating. Next, a 1-3/8” thickness with Intellicore insulation has a 12.9 R-value. The best option on the market is the 18.4 R-value, which comes from 2” Intellicore insulation.
